Is it the crisp, cool and refreshing Autumn air? Or maybe the limitless views from the craggy summits in the White Mountains? Ahh, yes it’s all these things but mostly it is the Fall foliage colors that cover the forests of this state like a quilt throughout the month of October.
These are also the reason why this time of year is the most popular for weddings. The backdrop is unique and beautiful, like every bride, where the white dress pops from a background or oranges, reds and golds.
I started the day by photographing Melissa getting ready in the locker room at the country club ahead of the ceremony. I could already tell that this was going to be a perfect wedding to photograph because, even late into October, we still had those amazing fall foliage colors and warm, sunny weather—not to mention a warm, sunny bride who was brimming with joy! I always tell my couples to plan ahead for the weather, but sometimes, Mother Nature provides the kind of backdrop you simply can’t ask for!
Castle in the Clouds is a historic mansion high above Lake Winnipesaukee in picturesque Moultonborough, New Hampshire. This interesting landmark is a popular tourist attraction to those visiting the Lakes Region of New Hampshire and it's surrounding towns - Wolfeboro, Center Harbor, Meredith, Ossipee, Alton and more.
Sunrise on Mount Washington in The White Mountains of New Hampshire is something I try to witness as often as possible. Three times a year I organize a photography session on the granite rock and every one is different in so many ways. This one was a calm, clear morning with the perfect amount of haze and soft clouds dotting the sky. The light was as breathtaking as the view in every direction.
Light is the secret to the beauty of late Fall weddings. The sun never really rises while sunset lasts half the day. Add in the stunning location of Whitney's Inn in Jackson, New Hampshire and you have a magical scene for a November wedding.
Bishop Farm Bed & Breakfast is the quintessential, tucked-away, New England wedding venue. Truly miles away from everywhere, the stunning grounds of this rustic barn wedding venue are yours and your guests and no one else's. Smartly decorated yet historically preserved, I personally have yet to find a wedding venue in New Hampshire that captures "rustic elegance" any better!
If a throw-back hotel was a throw-back inn that was a throw-back mansion you would be at Stonehurst Manor, high on a bluff in the heart of North Conway, New Hampshire in the Mount Washington Valley. Many details of the original home are intact making it feel as though you travelled back in time upon entering the foyer.
