For some couples it’s a worst case scenario, but for a professional wedding photographer a rainy day wedding is seen as an opportunity. First off, it is so rare that a rain event on a wedding day is so torrential that the idea of doing some photos outside is completely off the table – I would say this happens to me maybe once a year. And this rule certainly applied at Maureen & Christopher’s Spring wedding at Waterville Valley Conference & Event Center in Waterville Valley, NH. Though the family formals, the ceremony and reception had to be inside or under cover, we were able to use the beautiful scenery of the White Mountain National Forest and the Osceola Arbor as the backdrop to the “first look”, bride & groom portraits and wedding party photos.
Imagine a dream destination wedding at one of the most beautiful places in the world – Martha’s Vineyard. The sea air hits you as soon as you reach the ferry in Wood’s Hole, and transports you to a new place that feels like the best kept secret that everyone knows about but few act upon. The haze in the hot and not-quite-summer air created the most beautiful light and I cannot think of a better spot than Sailing Camp Park for an intimate, outdoor wedding ceremony on Memorial Day Weekend.
