I wanted to share this engagement session from last year in September to encourage everyone to book now for Fall Dream Shoot Engagement Sessions in and around Lake Winnipesaukee. This couple was so amazing and open to my ideas so I told them I have two amazing locations (only a few miles away from each other) in Meredith, NH that showcase different backdrops and feelings and can be photographed beautifully in the short time before sunset.
Up on a hill along Route 106 in Meredith, New Hampshire is one of my all-time favorite spots for portrait sessions. This is a lightly visited nature preserve with a wonderful farmers field that has now be let to go wild. The sun hits this location perfectly in the late evening creating a golden light that almost looks fake it's so beautiful!
At this location, there are also apples trees, views, a stone wall, a pond, a dirt road and a beautiful woods for a great variety all in one place. With these two, we stayed on the field and near the apple trees because the light was so inspiring and there was no way I was going to leave it behind!
These two had a great idea (directly from Pinterest!) and brought balloons with their wedding date to our engagement session! I absolutely fell in love with their plan but mother nature had another idea for us. The wind prevented us from getting the 'perfect' shot but we sure did have fun trying!
A short drive from out first location is the amazing town docks in downtown Meredith. On a weekday evening it's easy to find parking and explore this area. In the evening after the sun goes below the horizon, we get a beautiful purple glow that surrounds us and reflects in the lake.
Late summer and early fall is a fantastic time to visit these locations. Most of the tourists have headed back home so we can often have the whole area to ourselves! Plus the light this time of year lingers, giving us plenty of opportunities to move around and change the scene while still getting that gorgeous sunset all around us.
If you are looking for a stellar location for an engagement session and love the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, please let me take you to these places. You will love you photos because the setting will feel magical and make an amazing Save the Date card by the way!
Our final shot is a private moment between these two. I wanted to step back and let them have a little time together without a camera in their face. I just love everything about this photo - the colors, the light, the water and the location, of coarse! Send me a note today and let's get your Fall Engagement Session on my calendar before I'm booked full. -Cate
