Featured Wedding Venues in New England

Silly bridal party photo at The Barn on the Pemi, a New Hampshire wedding venue

The Barn on the Pemi

As a wedding photographer in New Hampshire, one of my absolute favorite barn wedding event venues has to be The Barn on the Pemi. This event space is located in the gateway to The White Mountain National Forest in Plymouth, New Hampshire and is part of the Common Man family. The Barn on the Pemi offers 10,000 square feet of event space, perfect for your wedding reception of up to 300 guests. Also on the property is a unique and beautiful open-air greenhouse for your wedding ceremony.

The Barn on the Pemi is one of the best venues for an NH wedding photographer because it has a great layout for the classic New England “outdoor-indoor” style wedding and filled with rustic charm. The outdoor spaces are amazing on their own while the indoor spaces fit great into the scene and are also beautiful.

Even if it does happen to rain on your wedding day, there will be no need for disappointment since the indoor spaces are so wonderful. Why not get married at the barn? The property also showcases mountain views and is along the Pemigewasset River.

You and your guests can also stay nearby at the Common Man Inn & Spa. During the summer months, they also provide a trolley service between the two venues. If the trolley is not available, school buses are for hire in the area. Which is exactly what one of my couples did on their big day!

Wedding ceremony on Lake Winnipesaukee at Castle in the Clouds

Castle in the Clouds

Castle in the Clouds is a historic mansion high above Lake Winnipesaukee in picturesque Moultonborough, New Hampshire. This interesting landmark is a popular tourist attraction to those visiting the Lakes Region of New Hampshire and the surrounding towns of Wolfeboro, Center Harbor, Meredith, Ossipee, and Alton Bay.

The grounds not only hold some of the most stunning views of Lake Winnipesaukee but also are an amazing place to explore with hiking trails, gardens, waterfalls and historic architectural features. Because of all this, it is no question why couples decide to have their wedding here! This gorgeous spot in New England is a great place an outdoor wedding ceremony and indoor reception.

The bridal party celebrating at the summit of Mount Sunapee in New Hampshire

Mount Sunapee Resort

A wedding at a ski area resort in New Hampshire is one of the easiest ways to get jaw-dropping views. Imagine the beautiful White Mountains as your wedding ceremony backdrop! The views from the ceremony site at Mount Sunapee Resort is no exception. The added bonus at Mount Sunapee is the one-of-a-kind view of Lake Sunapee in the foreground and the mountains in the distance. Though the ride up the chairlift can be nerve-racking for some, it is absolutely worth it for a memorable wedding.

The Sunapee Lodge is in two levels, a dance floor downstairs with seating for dinner upstairs. In the middle of the second level, there is a giant open rotunda where you can look down at the dance floor and see all the goings-on without missing a thing.

Wedding Planning Tip

It's important to book your wedding photographer around the same time you secure your wedding venue.

Congratulations on your search for wedding venues in New Hampshire. You are probably starting to realize how fast the best ceremony and reception spaces book. The same applies to your wedding photographer.

In particular, the best wedding photographers local to many NH venues often book 1.5 to 2 years in advance. If you cannot book locally, you may end up paying a travel fee! Plus, you may be hiring someone unfamiliar with your wedding location.

The best thing to do is to search for a wedding photographer now. Even if you do not have a wedding date set in stone, you can still make inquiries and request pricing.
