NH Wedding Photographer: Our Pinterest Boards Featuring NH Wedding Venues
One of my favorite things to do is to fall deep into the wedding picture Pinterest rabbit hole! I like to think that I am contributing to Pinterest too. In this blog post, I am sharing the wedding photos that I am always updating on my Pinterest boards. I like to feature my favorite New Hampshire wedding venues as well as wedding detail photos and my portfolio.
Read on below to see my favorite venue Pinterest boards featuring our wedding photos. All the pictures in this post were taken by myself. Click here to read up more about me: Cate Bligh, I am the founder and lead photographer at The Green Barn Wedding Photography LLC.
My Favorite NH Wedding Venue Photos on Pinterest
The number of beautiful wedding spaces in New Hampshire alone can be overwhelming. Never mind the amazing venues you can also find in Vermont and Maine! Below are three of my favorite event venues that as a wedding photographer in New Hampshire, I also love to photograph weddings at.
The Barn on the Pemi in Plymouth, NH
The Barn on the Pemi is a favorite New Hampshire barn wedding venue of mine to photograph weddings at. This is because it has a fantastic flow from wedding preparations to the ceremony to cocktail hour to reception. Everything is convenient, close by, and easy for guests to explore and find their way around. The reception barn is also fantastic with plenty of space for your guests to wander. The two levels divide dinner from the rest of the reception formalities. This also allows a birds-eye-view of all the happenings for those who don't want to tackle the stairs or wait for the elevator. (Yes! They have an elevator in the barn!)
Mount Sunapee Resort in Newbury, NH
A wedding at a ski area resort in New Hampshire is one of the easiest ways to get jaw-dropping views. Imagine the beautiful White Mountains as your wedding ceremony backdrop! The views from the ceremony site at Mount Sunapee Resort is no exception. The bonus at Mount Sunapee is the one-of-a-kind view of Lake Sunapee in the foreground with the mountains in the distance. Though the ride up the chairlift can be nerve-racking for some, it is worth it for a memorable wedding.
The lodge at Mount Sunapee Resort is also a fantastic venue for a wedding reception. They have two levels; dinner is upstairs while the cocktail hour and dancing are downstairs.
Waterville Valley Resort in Waterville Valley, NH
Waterville Valley is also known as one of the best ski areas in the northeast, but the little town is the real hidden gem! Weddings here take place at an arbor overlooking the town pond and the high mountain views. Reception locations have a few options to choose from but I love the tent. The staff always decorates it with an elegant, rustic flair with birch trees and string lights. This is a fantastic starting point for bringing in your decor.
What are the first steps to planning a wedding?
The first and most important steps to planning a wedding are:
-
Narrow down a date and location. This can be the month or time of year and a general geographic region. Also, answer this question honestly: “How long do you want to be engaged?”
-
Select a venue. This will help you determine your exact wedding date too.
-
Find a wedding photographer. Select a photographer that you love and who is local to the venue, if possible.
- Start researching other local vendors, local to your venue because they will be the ones to book up first. Your wedding photographer and venue coordinator are great resources for this! Being that they are the ones who encounter most of or all the vendors at every wedding they work, they will know the most variety and who's the best.
Looking Forward to the Upcoming Wedding Season
Even though New Hampshire has what seems like an endless amount of wedding venues, the top ones book up quickly. The same goes when booking your wedding photographer, be it for a destination wedding in NH or if you live in the area.
If there is one more piece of advice I can give you is to not wait when booking your photographer for a New Hampshire wedding. You should start your search around the same time you are narrowing down your venue choices.
