Why is "B&W only" digital photography less expensive?
We are able to lower our rate when you specify b&w only digital photography because the post-processing involved with black and white photography is significantly less time. The same amount of attention is paid to the processing of your photos, black and white just simply has far less complexity (for example, file sizes and tonal range) when dealing with digital photography editing which shortens the time required for editing in post.
Why is film photography so much more expensive?
The layers of costs when dealing with film photography are significantly more and rise for each roll of film used, especially when using film for wedding photography. For each hour, you can expect me to use anywhere from 4 to 10 rolls of film. Adding the outright cost of those rolls of film plus processing and then conversion to digital files, the costs on our end add up quickly.
Why would I choose film photography for my wedding over digital photography?
Couples who choose film photography for their wedding images typically desire a more artistic approach. Not to say these artistic abilities cannot be achieved digitally, but there is a constraint to the craft the forces me to create different images as well as a certain vibrance and depth to the tones that only film can reproduce. There is also a sense of permanence, in knowing the tangible negatives exist in the hands of your wedding photographer - which means they will outlast any obsolete digital format over the passing of time.
How are my film photography images delivered after my wedding?
A wedding shot with film with be delivered the same way as if it were shot digitally. All the negatives and positives are scanned at the lab to ensure the highest quality photographs possible. You may choose to purchase high-resolution digital versions of these images as well, same as if the wedding was shot digitally. The only difference is it may take an extra 2 - 4 weeks for the final product to be delivered.
May I purchase the negatives/slides if I have my wedding shot with film?
I do not sell or offer the purchase of film negatives or slides for any purpose (just like my digital negatives.) I ensure proper safe, fire-proof storage of your negatives and slides while making them available to you at any time if re-scans, duplicates or enlargements are ever needed.
